Open Ownership (OO) is a non-profit run by a small, expert team. We have colleagues in five continents and are well-positioned to support countries implementing beneficial ownership transparency. Our day-to-day management relies on an executive team, which is overseen by a Steering Group made up of leading transparency and accountability organisations.
OO is fiscally sponsored by Global Impact. Fiscal sponsorship is a common mechanism in the non-profit sector, as it enables organisations to launch new programmes without needing to complete the full process of establishing a new legal entity.
The Steering Group publicly champions beneficial ownership transparency and helps ensure that OO is strategic and focused. It was formed in 2018, and is made up of the following members:
- Gavin Hayman, Open Contracting Partnership
- Robin Hodess, B-Team
- Joseph Kraus, ONE campaign
- Maíra Martini, Transparency International
- Chris Taggart, OpenCorporates
We work with partners worldwide in governments, businesses, civil society organisations, academia, and the media to bring ownership information into the open.
