Join us in March 2027 for the 2nd Research Symposium on the Evidence and Impact of Beneficial Ownership Transparency (BOT), with a theme on Bridging research and practice.

The Symposium is organised by the Global Hub for BOT (GloBOT), a multistakeholder platform bringing together key actors including the World Bank, Open Ownership (OO), the International Monetary Fund, the Financial Action Task Force, the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime, and the OECD Global Forum to advance BOT reform globally. Building on the success of last year’s Research Symposium, organised by OO, the World Bank Group’s Beneficial Ownership Transparency Thematic Working Group, and the Centre for the Study of Corruption (University of Sussex), GloBOT is pleased to announce a second edition.

Date: 22-23 March 2026 (TBC)
Venue: World Bank Offices, Paris and online

Bringing together government representatives, civil society, academics, and international organisations, this Symposium aims to support evidence-based policymaking and strengthen the international cooperation needed for BOT reforms to deliver lasting results. We hope to close the gap between what evidence shows and what reform looks like on the ground.

We welcome applications to present at the Symposium from researchers, advocates, practitioners, and others working on research in the areas of:

  • BOT policy design and implementation
  • Impact measurement and data use
  • BOT of assets and other horizon issues

Submit your proposals by 23 November 2026, 23:59 ET.

Find out more about the themes, eligibility criteria, and submission process. A small number of bursaries are available to support travel and accommodation costs for selected presenters.

We look forward to seeing your proposals and engaging with innovative work from international researchers to advance the evidence and impact of BOT.
