After the university-based laboratory Citizen Lab linked spyware to a North Macedonian developer, the country's company register revealed the firm was founded by five Israeli nationals and one Hungarian, with an Israeli former military officer listed as beneficial owner – redirecting an investigation that had initially focused on local actors.
