Beneficial ownership (BO) register data helps trace ownership of companies allegedly evading EU sanctions on Belarusian oil products

Journalists used Estonian and Latvian BO register data to trace ownership of companies alleged to be circumventing EU sanctions on Belarusian oil by miscoding product types. Changes in beneficial ownership following sanction imposition suggested possible use of nominee structures to obscure continued trade.
