Ghanian civil society organisation (CSO) uses national beneficial ownership (BO) register to link a mining company to Australian owners with criminal records, prompting the Ministry of Lands not to renew its licence
The Ghanaian CSO Northern Patriots in Reseach and Advocacy (NORPRA) used Ghana's BO register to identify the Australian owners behind a company operating in Ghana. On finding that those owners had criminal records, NORPRA reported the case to Ghana's Ministry of Lands, which led to the company's licence not being renewed.
