New Zealand is leading the implementation of beneficial ownership transparency (BOT) in the Pacific region. Recently, Australia has also expressed its commitment to implement BOT. Efforts are currently underway to review or enact legislation to enable the collection and publication of beneficial ownership data. Open Ownership supports countries in the Pacific region that have committed to the Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative and the Open Government Partnership by providing technical inputs for their National Action Plans.
