Denmark reaches 96% beneficial ownership (BO) compliance by 2019 through clear guidance, digital verification, and dissuasive sanctions, including company dissolution

By 2019, 96% of all corporate vehicles covered by Denmark's BO regime had disclosed their beneficial ownership to the Central Business Register (CVR). This was achieved through comprehensive Danish Business Authority (DBA) guidance, digital MitID-based identity verification cross-checked against the civil register and address database, and dissuasive sanctions – including dissolution of non-compliant companies. In the first year following strengthened requirements, the DBA dissolved 7,500 companies.
